by “Cantieri Riuniti dell'Adriatico”
at Monfalcone, Italy
THE UN-NAMED “SHIP OF TOMORROW”
Our new flagship is now under construct
ion at the famous yards of “Cantieri
Riuniti dell'Adriatico” in Monfalcone,
near Trieste.
As yet unnamed, this ship of advanced
structural design will be ready for cruis
ing and transatlantic service in the fall
0Î1963. Her ultra-modern design will be
accentuated by a raked funnel aft and
an aluminum superstructure.
The new super-liner will be operated
between Canada and the Channel ports
to augment our Canadian service now
being maintained by our present flag.
ship ‘Homeric". She will be the largest
passenger ship ever to navigate the
St. Lawrence from and to Montreal. In
winter she will be operated on crulses
from New York to the Caribbean —
one of the largest vessels ever to be
employed in that trade.
